National Geographic's "Big Questions" Grant - For Storytellers

Through this call for proposals, the National Geographic Society will invite storytellers to delve into some of the big questions that most have wrestled with for millennia and that are only just emerging. This opportunity seeks innovative photography, short film, writing, data visualization, and other storytelling proposals to help people consider some of the greatest questions of our time. Funding ranges from $20,000 to $100,000.

The 2025 Unpublished Novel Award for Fiction

This opportunity celebrates stellar unpublished manuscripts in seven genres: Children's & Young Adult, Crime & Mystery, Horror, Literary Fiction, Romance, Science Fiction & Fantasy, and Thriller & Suspense. A panel of judges will select one exceptional manuscript in each genre to receive a $10,000 grant to support it on the journey to publication.

The New Voices Award - For An Unpublished Writer of Color or Native/Indigenous Writer

This opportunity is given biennially to an unpublished writer of color or Native/Indigenous writer for a picture book manuscript. Manuscripts may be fiction, nonfiction, or poetry for children ages 5 to 12. They should address the needs of children of color or Native/Indigenous children by providing stories with which they can identify and relate and which promote a greater understanding of one another. Themes about different family structures, gender identity, LGBTQ+ communities, or disabilities are also interesting. One winner will receive a standard publication contract, including Lee & Low Books’ basic advance and royalties for a first-time author for $5,000.

The 2025 Queen Mary Wasafiri New Writing Prize

This competition is open to anyone worldwide who has not published or signed a contract to publish a book-length fiction, life writing, or poetry, except for self-published works or poetry chapbooks. There are no limits on age, gender, nationality, or background. The winners of each category will receive a £1,000 cash prize and publication in Wasafiri magazine.

The Amplifier Grant

This opportunity is for individuals, businesses, and organizations that are boots on the ground every day trying to make the world a better place. Projects or organizations should actively work to make the world a better place in the United States. Does this sound broad? Good, because it is! You could be a bakery, an afterschool program, or more — if you’re making a change, they want to hear about it. All entities from high school projects, grassroots organizations, nonprofits, startups, businesses, and more are encouraged to apply. $5,000 will be awarded.

The Regional Awards of the Cartier Women’s Initiative - For Women-Owned Impact-Driven Businesses

These awards are looking for women-owned and women-led impact-driven businesses. Entrepreneurs across all sectors and geographies are encouraged to apply. Applicants with disabilities are encouraged to apply; every effort will be made to include them appropriately. To be considered for this award, the applicant and the applicant’s business must meet the following eligibility criteria: The applicant must be a woman, must fill one of the main leadership positions, must demonstrate a positive impact, be early-stage and for profit, and generating revenue from the sales of its products and/or services for at least 1 year. Funding ranges from $30,000 to $100,000.

Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Small Business Grant

The Program will primarily provide direct grants of up to $50,000 to eligible small businesses to offset the impact that construction closures or detours may have on business operations. Program activities and funding may include marketing funding for businesses along the corridor and other business support. This opportunity provides support to small businesses located along the Purple Line corridor that are impacted by construction.

This Foundation works to build confidence in women. The application should center around a program or project and address one or more pillars of the Foundation: Confidence, Inclusion, and Sustainability. Grants will be up to $10,000.

The MUSE Accelerator - For Early-Stage Beauty Brands

This opportunity offers eight early-stage beauty brands the opportunity to continue their growth toward retail readiness and success. This 10-week curriculum and training includes lessons on how to set your brand up for long-term success. Connect with mentors, including beauty founders and Ulta Beauty Merchandising partners, to guide the way. $50,000 will be awarded to help accelerate your business.

Filmmakers

The 2026 International Creator Residency Program - For Visual Artists, Filmmakers, Designers & Architects

This 3-month opportunity aims to invite distinguished and highly motivated international creators in visual art, film, design, and architecture and to provide them with opportunities to work in Tokyo. The residents' residency results will be presented at the OPEN STUDIO and/or the Result Presentation at TOKAS Hongo. Applicants will receive a living space (single room), a shared studio, and airfare. A round-trip economy-class air ticket between the nearest airport from the place of residence and Tokyo (either Narita or Haneda Airport) will be provided. They will also receive a per diem of JYP 4,200 in living expenses (consumption tax excluded) per day and a fee for work/project of JPY 300,000 (consumption tax excluded).

The 2026 Arts & Humanities Fellowship Program - For Washington, D.C. Residents

This opportunity supports qualified individual artists and humanities practitioners who significantly contribute to the District of Columbia as a world-class cultural capital. AHFP recognizes the impact of individual artists and humanities practitioners within the District and supports the vitality that those individuals bring to the local community. This grant opportunity encourages progress in the arts and humanities by sustaining, highlighting, and elevating the accomplishments of individual District-based artists and humanities practitioners. Ten disciplines can be applied to Dance, Design Arts, Go-Go Artists, Humanities, Interdisciplinary, Media Arts, Music Teaching Artists, Theatre, and Visual Arts. The amount of awarded grants is contingent upon funding.
